Two-fer Tuesday-Two Confessions

It's that time again...Time for Two-fer Tuesday!
(Woot Woot!)

Today I decided since it's been a while that I'd share two confessions...(Da Da Da)

These are 100% true confessions, but they are nothing too profound or deep...they're mostly just so you can get to know me a little better...

1. I am not a movie lover...far from it...I actually kind of really don't like movies... in general.
I know this is really weird...people always look at me funny when I tell them..."Movies? Who doesn't love a good movie?"
Me.

Don't get me wrong, I love myself a good comedy or chick flick but what gal doesn't?
Besides those two genres (and even within those I'm picky), count me out.

I'm not really sure why this is? I just don't get it? It's not real. It probably wouldn't happen in real life, what's the point? On top of that if I've seen a movie once I rarely, if ever want to see it again. I have a great memory and I already know what's going to happen. Why see it again? The ending isn't going to be different...right? That doesn't happen does it?

I guess maybe I'd rather live in reality then in fantasy?

...and I'm just spitballing ideas here, it may also just be that I'm completely nutz!
(I'm leaning toward the latter.)

Okay on the subject of "reality", that brings me to my second confession:

2. I LOVE Reality T.V.
(did you see that one coming?)

I'm addicted to reality T.V. it's a sickness...I can't get enough! I can't help it they suck me in.

I know you can make the claim that reality T.V. isn't in fact REAL, but I don't care...I can't stop watching!

I've got a looong list of the shows I watch from the guilty pleasure kind that you hide from your friends, to the super cool ones that I don't feel bad if someone were to see it recorded on my D.V.R.

So you get a good read on how deep this addiction goes here's a list of the "Reality" shows I'm in to, and these are just the ones I can remember I'm sure there are more that I've forgotten.

Guilty Pleasures:

Real Housewives
(ALL OF THEM, Orange County, Atlanta, Jersey, Beverly Hills, New York, Miami...)

Jerseylicious

Klohe and Lamar

Keeping up with the Kardashians

Courtney and Kim/Klhoe take...(where ever they may be that season)

Big Brother

Giuliana & Bill
(I'm bummed though because it doesn't look like it's coming back)

Less of a Guilty Pleasure more Awesome:
Top Chef
Biggest Loser

Next Food Network Star

Next American Restaurant
Amazing Race

The Voice

America's Got Talent

Extreme Make-over Weight Loss Edition (new one!)

The Little Couple

Cake Boss

Cupcake Wars

Say Yes to the Dress
(all the editions)

I know there are soooo many more that I'm spacing on right now but hey that gives you a little preview anyways...Don't judge me...it's awesome and you know you're watching too!

Two-fer Tuesday-Two Confessions

I've got a confession, well two confessions to be exact.

It almost hurts me to say them out loud, or rather to write them out publicly, but in the spirit of sharing here goes...

1. I can not sew...I know, I know it's shocking, it shocks me to this day, but yes it sadly is true...I can not sew to save my life! (I'm so ashamed).
(This is me..new Sew Zone!)

This is a fact that is extraordinarily pathetic since:

A. I have a crafting blog

B. I have a Mother who is a Master Sewer! (AMAZINGLY good...Really!!)
and
C. My boyfriend in high school was a magnificent sewer as well who often sewed me up some wonderful presents and on occasion tried to give me a lesson or two of which I was having none of due to the fact that...

Confession #2: I am stubborn as a MULE!!
(Yep that's me!)

Just call me "G...the amazingly Stubborn Mule" I'll probably turn around...(I might have a tear in my eye but only because I know it's true).

Turns out I don't like to do things that I don't already know how to do (weird thought), if it doesn't come naturally to me I want no part of it...I'm stubborn that way. That aside I have a MAJOR problem learning from other people in general because my mind is a crazy place (my learning process is weird) and when people try to explain things to me and I can't wrap my head around it on the first go around (I'm also impatient), my frustration gets the better of me and I'm done. (did I mention I'm not perfect??)

I'm a learner, I love to learn and I love to teach (my dream), I've always come to school easily, never had a problem taking direction from my teachers (for the most part) most likely because most teachers try to incorporate a variety of learning styles into they way they teach (the mark of a great teacher in my book).

My stubbornness in learning comes in to play when I'm trying to learn something from someone (usually super close to me i.e. my mom or hubby) who doesn't teach to me the way my mind works and being an amazingly stubborn mule I give up before they can teach me.

My stubbornness is double sided however. On one side I'm too stubborn to learn from others, but on the other side I'm too stubborn to not learn it at all. Too stubborn to let anything get the better of me! That is how I came to realize that I like to self learn!

I know the way around the crazy maze in my head better than anyone else so for me independent study is the way to go!! It's served me well indeed! It earned me 2 minors in college, most of my bachelors and is currently the road in which I am pursuing my Master's degree. It's how I learned most of my crocheting and other various crafting skills (minus sewing), how I learned blog and website design, cooking and baking, and other various skills.

And it is how I plan to tackle SEWING!!
(minus the 1000 calls to my mommy)

Truth be told I can sew a straight line...if it's a short straight line. I have sewn a pillow or two in my day, and I did try my hand at some burp cloths a while back, but that is the extend of my sewing prowess.

I resolved to learn a while back, I was going to teach myself (being that I'm a stubborn mule incapable of learning from others)...I got a sewing machine for my birthday and I was all ready to make it happen...

Instead I got preggers and moved half way across the country. And as these things often go, life got crazy with three little ones under 3 and I never really found the time.

Then of course when I am finally ready to get it done...My sewing machine was stolen in what I'm now referring to as the "Great Summer Caper of 2010." (It's now earned the title "Great Caper" because still to this day I am realizing more and more things that were stolen ...it sucks...it feels like being robbed over and over again...no fun!)

Luckily for me, I have a great Mother in law with a fairly new sewing machine and no reason to sew...I have for now inherited it as my own until I can get a new one.

Luckily for me and you all, (I fought it there I wanted to say y'all but I didn't),I have a wonderful mother who would do anything for me...including sewing up wonderful goodies for my shop and then shipping them to me all the way from Texas (with love of course).

It's happening folks...it's been long enough...the shame ends today!

I even found myself a mantra for when I start to get amazingly stubborn...
I'm thinking I need to print this out and have it next to me as I begin my sewing adventure!

Does anyone have a good book they could recommend to teach me the basics? Small projects I could start out with?? I'd love to hear from you fabulous sewers out there??

So yea that's a little bit more about me...hopefully I haven't scared you off...

Two-fer Tuesday- Two Confessions

Okay so I totally missed Two-fer Tuesday last week and I was blue...it's one of my favorite posts to do! So I am extra excited for This weeks Two-fer Tuesday!!!!!!!

I thought it would be fun since this is new blog and we are all getting to know each other, to have this weeks Two-fer be Two Confessions...da da da.

Don't get too excited, these confessions really just tell you a little bit about me, they are really nothing JUICY and frankly they're pretty lame...I'm pretty boring and doing this post really just reinforced that for me.

Here we go:
Confession #1: This one is kind of embarrassing, OR SUPER awesome...it really depends on how you look at it. I lean more toward super awesome, while the hubster leans more toward embarrassing and sad. I will let you all be the judge.

This confession needs a little back story:

When I met my husband I was 18 and he was 21 and we were at college. I grew up being the only girl with 5 brothers, and I pretty much had a boyfriend throughout high school. I was a little late in getting my drivers license and I hate driving in general...I HATE it. (Don't get me wrong I'd rather drive then walk, but come on I'd rather be driven around then drive myself around...isn't that the dream?)

So, pretty much I grew up, being driven around by either my parents, my boyfriend, a friend or one of my older brothers. I drove, but my driving pretty much consisted of driving myself to a place where I could throw my keys to someone (like the people mentioned above) who would then drive me around in my car. I LOVED it! I was Livin' the DREAM! I was on easy street, even when I went away to college, I kept on livin the dream!! (My roommates were enablers of my sad/awesome behavior) And then one day shortly after my husband and I started dating I mentioned to him in a conversation that my car was low on gas, (mentioning it to him was my sly way of letting him know in hopes that he would fill it up)to which he replied some nonsense about where I should go to fill it up...and here comes the CONFESSION: (finally right?)

I had to tell him that I had to that point NEVER once filled up my own car with gas...I didn't even know how. Yep my friends I was 18, almost 19 years old and not only had I never filled up my own car with gas (which my hubby thinks in itself is my secret shame) I had no idea how to even fill my car up with gas....Not being a team player, the hubs made me go out ALONE to the gas station and with my tail between my legs fill up my car with gas for the first time. Sadly, the first station I stopped at, I couldn't do it and drove crying to the next station where I weirdly watched the guy next to me as he did it and I finally got it.

Was I excited you ask? Did I feel a sense of pride for finally having done it? NO! I'm still mad about it...I had a good streak going.

Fast forward to present time...I still will NOT fill up my car with gas unless it is a dyer emergency. I will shamelessly drive my car on "E" (I know that's really bad for the car) and wait Chris out...he's almost always the one that budges first and man do I LOVE him for it!

So, embarrassing or super awesome?? I'll admit to it being a little of both.

Confession #2: Compared to the first one, this one is pretty boring but it is a little insight into my mind. I am obsessed with Notebooks and Notepads. I buy them everywhere I go, I have never met a notebook I didn't like. I have notebooks in almost every nook and cranny of our apartment. I have one in my purse at all times, and sometimes two. I have 2 notepad apps on my blackberry and one on my tablet. The obsession is pretty bad. Post it notes cover my desk.

I have notebooks stashed every where so that I can jot down a little note where ever I am, without worry. I have a Dream..."that one day I will have a notebook within reach no matter where I am!"

The problem is that I jot down notes in different notebooks all over the house. I have a hard time finding my different notes when I need them, and often I find that I have made the same notes in like 5 different places.

Every now and then I gather up all my little notebook friends and attempt to consolidate my many, many scribbles into one Master Notebook...this lasts like for a day and then I'm back to writing notes everywhere. It's pathetic really, but I love all my little friends. This obsession leads into other obsession that I have like with pens, lists (oh I LOVE lists) and with planners (I weirdly have like 4 going planners that I "schedule" in, but they each have different appointments and calendar reminders in them. Not a one of them is a complete schedule...very unproductive) ...but I'll save that one for another day.

So I asked the Hubster to go around and gather up all of my notebooks for a quick photo shoot to showcase my crazy (Which he did happily)...here they are people...here are my notebooks

Oh and here's another shot...just for effect.
This isn't even counting the apps that I have downloaded on my "devices." The really sad thing is that these are just the ones he could find...there's more...oh yes there are more...These are what I like to call the "active" notebooks...they're the ones I'm currently favoring, and that get the most attention.

Well, that is it. An insight into me...Two confessions about my life to help you to get to know me a little better. Maybe when we get to know each other a little better I'll share some of those JUICY confessions from my wild past...wall in good time...
