Family Home Evening-Summer Bucket List

Summer Bucket List
(Woot Woot)

Okay so it is officially Summer, (can I get a Woot Woot!?)and even though the boy doesn't get out of school until the 1st of July (that's year round school for ya...L.A.M.E.), we are starting our Summer Celebrations tomorrow!!!

And so the hubs and I decided that for our Family Home Evening this week we would kick off our Summer Fun by making a plan so that we could be the Clan with a Plan, (Dorky I know but admit that it made you chuckle a little...)

I saw this

amaze-balls Summer Fun chart here (F.Y.I. these girls are amazing!!) and long story short I had to have one of my very own...

With slight modifications of course.
(Vintage G... I like to get inspiration and then tweak ideas to make them a littler more my own.)

I HAD to have the journal to go along with it though...

it's just way to cute an idea!

Monday night for F.H.E. the kids, the hubs and I sat down and created our Summer Bucket List of 50 fun activities and adventures to embark on this Summer! The kids had a blast naming off every fun thing they could think of and every yummy treat from here to Texas!

Needless to say that our Summer Bucket List sure got me super excited to start checking off our Summer adventures, and you can only imagine how excited my little tykes are! They're pumped to say the least!!

Our plan is to come as close as we can to checking off each activity as we can...we're shooting for 100% but we'll have to see how things shake out. Our mission is to photo journal each activity we do and add it to our journal.

Every now and then I'll try and share our progress and a few of our pics just for kicks. I'm listing in the freebies our list of 50 Summer Adventures just in case you want some inspiration for your Summer or you want to join in on the fun.

Also if you click here you will actually be able to get the printables and instructions from The Crafting Chicks to make a Summer Fun chart of your very own!
(I'm hoping that that sentence was met with Oprah giveaway type acclaim...)

Here also is a link to our FHE Sweet Treat for the week: Creamy Lemon Squares they are mmm...mmm...good!

Remember: A silly family is a happy family!

Ok, if you're still with me and you haven't passed out from the shear shock of seeing meals actually planed to be cooked on the weekend, (yea, the weekend...madness I say!) let me explain myself...

The hubster got together and talked and we decided to tweak our weekly menu threefold:

1. We will plan a grand breakfast feast for Saturday mornings

2. We will plan a Sunday dinner on the nights that we are not visiting family

3. We will plan a weekly dessert (on top of the F.H.E. treat we plan every week which I will also start sharing in our F.H.E. posts that I am also going to start soon) Whew I've got a lot to do!

I hope you like our changes...it does include more recipes so that's always good, hope you find some inspiration for your weekly menu and as always

Happy Cooking!

Two-fer Tuesday

YAY! It's Two-fer Tuesday!!!

Today I thought it would be fun to Share two of my favorite things with you!
Are you excited?

Probably not as excited as I am because well they are my favorite things after all!

But seriously get ready because you're in store for some special treats and there may or may not (there so totally is) a Bonus recipe in this post (and man it's a doozy)!!

Favorite thing #1: Anybody and Everybody who knows me at all knows that there is one thing that I am addicted to, one thing that my life revolves around (aside from my kids and the hubster of course). One thing that fuels my existence...

CHERRY COKE BABY!!

Oh I love me some Cherry Coke, or regular coke...but these day's it's cherry coke that's got my heart.

Okay first of all it's amazingly tasty I mean come on!

Second have you seen the can...IT'S PINK!

I love it's smooth and soothing deliciousness, especially after a hard day! I try to reserve myself to having just one a day, sometimes (after one of those days) I'll have two to calm my nerves, but man it never fails to take me to my happy place.
I'm having one right now as I write this and I gotta say...I'm one happy blog writing gal!

Favorite thing #2: Scotcheroos!

Okay if you haven't had a Scotcheroo...SHAME ON YOU!
Click the fantastically delicious link and make yourself up a batch TODAY!
Probably one of my all time favorite TREATS!! They make me so very happy!
They are like Rice Krispy Treats but like a kagillion (yea I pulled that one out) times better! Hello they are literally covered in butterscotch chocolate!
Not only are they super delish, but they are also super easy to make and so very worth the extra work out you'll have to do after you eat the whole plate!

Disclaimer: Do Not eat the entire plate in one sitting...you WILL get a tummy ache.
(Don't say I didn't warn you.)

Well my friends, there you have it...I'm a simple girl from Texas...the way to my heart is relatively easy...a Cherry Coke and a Scotcheroo and I'm putty in your hands!
